Dyscalculia is a specific learning difficulty that impacts a person’s ability to understand numbers.  It is estimated that approximately 6 to 8% of the population are affected.  On that basis, there are upwards of 70,000 pupils at primary and secondary level in Irish schools, who are impacted by this difficulty.  Dyscalculia is not just a difficulty with exam level maths but can hugely impact a person’s confidence as they go through life.  The purpose of this website is to educate and inform people about the signs of dyscalculia and to set out different interventions and strategies that improve outcomes.
